Last updated: March 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Motorlytics ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Motorlytics web application ("the Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the Service:

Account Information
Your email address and authentication details (via our identity provider), used to secure your account.
Vehicle & Log Data
Make, model (996/986), year, mileage, and optional details. This includes fuel logs, maintenance history, and failure reports (descriptions, repair costs, and dates).
Trial Status Information
If you activate the 180-day free Premium Trial, we store the activation and expiration timestamps needed to show your trial status.
Technical Data
IP address, browser type, and usage metrics collected via our hosting provider and basic analytics to ensure service stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Service Delivery: To display your vehicle dashboard, cost forecasts, and maintenance reminders.
  • Aggregated Analytics: We use anonymized and aggregated vehicle data (e.g., "average IMS bearing failure mileage") to improve our statistical models for all users. This data does not identify you or your specific VIN/identity.
  • Communication: To send transactional emails regarding your account, trial status, or important security updates.
  • Security: To detect and prevent malicious bot activity.

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with trusted service providers necessary to run the app:

  • Infrastructure: Cloud hosting (application hosting) and managed database and authentication services (database and auth).
  • Analytics: Basic tools to monitor app performance.
  • Legal: If required by U.S. law or to protect our legal rights under Delaware jurisdiction.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal email and vehicle records will be removed from our active databases.
Backups
Residual data may remain in encrypted backups for a short period (typically 30 days) before being permanently overwritten.
Aggregated Data
Anonymized technical statistics derived from your logs may be retained as part of our general database of Porsche 996/986 failure trends.

5. Your Rights (U.S. & International)

Depending on your location (e.g., California CCPA or GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • Opt-out of certain data processing.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.

To exercise these rights, please use the contact details in the Contact Us section below when they are available.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures provided by our cloud infrastructure vendors (such as SSL encryption and row-level security) to protect your data. However, no internet-based service is 100% secure.

7. International Transfers

As a Service governed by U.S. law (State of Delaware), your data will be processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults (vehicle owners) and does not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 16.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be notified via the website or your registered email.
